Comments
Adiponectin receptor 1 (AdipoR1) is an integral membrane protein with seven transmembrane domains with an internal N-terminus and an external C-terminus. AdipoR1 is highly conserved among species and expressed by many cells. Skeletal muscle is rich source of AdipoR1. Obese humans have decreased expression of AdipoR1 in adipose tissue (AT). Weight loss leads to increased AdipoR1 in AT.
